New national sales manager joins Child Magazines

Benita Gevorkian has joined Child Magazines as national sales manager.

The announcement:

Benita Gevorkian has joined Australia’s biggest parenting publication, CHILD Magazines, as National Sales Manager.

Benita comes from Macquarie Radio Network where she handled 2GB and 2CH, working across the Alan Jones, Ben Fordham and Ray Hadley programs, to name a few.

From 2007-2013 she was National Advertising and Sales Manager and part of the launch team for The West Australian’s West Weekend magazine owned by Seven West Media Group.

Benita’s appointment rounds out a powerhouse team that has seen the 25-years-young magazine complete a major revamp in the past year under Editor, Karen Miles and Publisher, Joanna Love.

A dynamic revitalisation has seen CHILD win five awards or finalist nominations in the past 12 months (Gold awards for cover, e-newsletter and its annual ‘D3’ disability editorial series, Parenting Media Association; finalist, Lifestyle category, The Maggies 2014 magazine cover awards; and finalist, Consumer Magazine of the Year category, Publishers Australia Excellence Awards 2014 – winners to be announced Nov 20).

The magazine revamped its website two months ago to create a seamless print-and-digital platform offering advertisers integrated opportunities across paid and native advertising, social media and editorial in a publication renowned for its honest engagement with parenting issues.

Print circulation across the masthead’s six-city network is holding steady at 471,744 (CAB Sept 2014). The monthly magazine is widely available free at educational, community, health, cultural and retail outlets.
