New podcast for the ‘modern travel marketer’

Two travel content marketers have launched a podcast which hopes to help marketers sell to young travellers.

The announcement:

Two of Australia’s most well-known travel content marketers have launched a podcast that promises to help marketers to “sell the dream to a new generation of travellers.”

The Destinationists, is co-hosted by Andrés López-Varela the former Global Content Editor for Tourism Australia, and Lauren Quaintance, ex travel GM for Fairfax Media and the co-founder of Storyation.

The first episode includes an interview with Gold Coast Tourism’s straight-talking Chief Marketing Officer Jan Hutton who declares that “tourism is dead” and defends the DMO’s contentious rebrand as essential in the face of changing traveller appetites.

López-Varela and Quaintance also talk about AirBnb’s surprising move into hotels and a ground-breaking TVC from Jackson Hole in Wyoming.

You can subscribe to The Destinationists on Apple Podcasts or Stitcher, or visit www.thedestinationists.com.
