New president for newsagent industry body after ‘past mistakes’

The Newsagents Association of NSW and ACT has appointed a new CEO six weeks after Chiang Lim was abruptly removed from the role.

NANA president Andrew Packham has taken on the CEO role as a one year contract.

While NANA has said the circumstances of Lim’s removal are confidential, it said in its announcement: “The NANA Board was very conscious of past mistakes in this type of appointment.

“The board of Directors has very defined roles and responsibilities within the business organisation. Essentially it is the role of the Board of Directors to assess the overall direction and strategy of the business. The CEO is responsible for implementing the strategy and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the business. Andrew Packham is the best person equipped to handle the role of CEO in the next phase of NANA development.”

Packham has been succeeded as president by Greg Handley.
