The Australian hikes subscription prices: ‘We do not take this decision lightly’

The Australian is increasing the cost of its digital subscription plans, a decision the paper’s editor-in-chief, Michelle Gunn, says wasn’t taken lightly “given the cost pressures being felt by Australian households”.

From October 11, the price of a digital subscription will leap from $8 per week to $11 a week –  a $12 leap each month.

The publication informed its readers of the price jump via email on Tuesday morning.
