News Corp launches campaign for SuperCoach NBL fantasy sports platform

News Corp has launched a campaign for the SuperCoach NBL fantasy sports platform featuring Boomers star Josh Giddey.

The ‘Stop Dribbling, Start Playing’ campaign, devised by News Corp’s in-house creative agency Roller, will run across the publisher’s state and regional mastheads in digital and print, as well as on radio, television, and social media.

In addition, Giddey, who plays in the American NBA for the Oklahoma City Thunder, will also write a regular column on the SuperCoach NBL platform, and manage his own fantasy basketball team in the SuperCoach NBL league.

Giddey was catapulted into NBA superstardom as pick number six for the Oklahoma City Thunder after making an impact playing NBL for the Adelaide 36ers as an 18-year-old in 2020-21.

“SuperCoach is Australia’s most popular and prominent fantasy sports franchise and we’re thrilled to be partnering with the NBL and extending the brand to millions of Australians who love basketball,” said News Corp Australia’s head of fantasy sports Paul Zines.

“Having Australian NBA star Josh Giddey on board is fantastic. Community is a big part of the success of SuperCoach and we’re delighted Josh will also play along and maintain his own team, as well as share his predictions and SuperCoach secrets throughout the season.”

Giddey said: “For me, my dad was my coach throughout most of my childhood. He coached me right from the start of my basketball [career] and guided me all my childhood and has done a lot for me. I give him a lot of credit for getting me to where I am today.”
