News Corp partners with Trip A Deal for the ‘world’s richest travel prize’

News Corp Australia and online travel agent Trip A Deal are offering a reader the chance to win $1m worth of travel across five years in their Million Dollar Travel campaign.

The accompanying multi-channel advertising and marketing campaign will include both print and digital advertising, digital and direct marketing, retail activations, editorial support, ATL media amplification on radio, TV and outdoor, as well as a creative PR campaign.

The winner will receive a $1m travel voucher to use over five years on any Trip A Deal holiday around the world. Entry will be via a daily code word published in one of 28 participating News Corp newspapers from September 7 to 21.

Trip A Deal co-founder Rich Johnston said the promotion is the biggest the brand has ever undertaken.

“Our core belief is that travel should be an experience enjoyed by everyone and our goal is to offer bucket list experiences at unbelievable prices. We are proud of the fact we make travel an affordable option for all, and believe this promotion and its creative execution with News Corp Australia will reach the largest audience,” said Johnston.

“This is the biggest initiative we’ve ever undertaken to boost our brand and our unique offering. We aim to increase brand awareness, inspire people to go travelling with Trip A Deal and generate talkability across the country and around the world.

The Daily Telegraph editor Ben English said the decision by Trip A Deal to partner with News Corp was a reflection of the media company’s extensive reach.

“This exclusive promotion will resonate with our readers, as like all Australians, our audiences love to travel,” said English.

“The Trip A Deal $1m promotion offers added value to our audiences across Australia, and due to its exclusivity, it’s expected to drive an increase in retail sales, while also generating subscription leads for our mastheads.

“We are thrilled Trip A Deal chose News Corp Australia platforms to execute their campaign, recognising the depth in audience reach and the power of our brands. We are proud that our readers will have the opportunity to win big, with one of the world’s richest travel prizes.”

The 28 News Corp titles supporting the promotion range across both metro and print in NSW, Vic, Qld, SA, NT and Tasmania. In addition to the main prize, all mastheads will be giving away one $500 Trip A Deal voucher each day for the 15 days of the promotion.
