Now in its ninth year, Pride of Australia honours unsung heroes across a range of categories including outstanding bravery, community spirit, heroism, care and compassion, and courage.
News Corp Australia’s Sunday mastheads today also revealed the state finalists for the program.

News Corp Australia chief executive Julian Clarke said: “Pride of Australia is a wonderful initiative that allows us to recognise the humble actions of everyday Australians in the community.

“I’m delighted that through our broadcast partnership with Network Ten we were able to secure such a fantastic opportunity to broadcast the National Pride of Australia Awards Ceremony on their exciting new morning television program.

“When you combine this opportunity with the exposure we provide across our network of mastheads including The Sunday Telegraph, Herald Sun, Sunday Mail and The CourierMail, it is great that we are able to play such a prominent role in recognising the actions of
these community heroes.”

Network Ten chief executive officer Hamish McLennan said: “Network Ten is proud to again partner with News Corp Australia in recognising the unsung heroes in our communities through the Pride of Australia Awards. We are honoured to share the uplifting and inspiring stories of the nominees with all of Australia through the special episode of our new morning program Studio 10.”

Studio 10 executive producer Rob McKnight said: “These awards recognise the very best in human spirit across our communities and TEN will create a broadcasting event that lives up to their extraordinary achievements.

“The passion News Corp Australia has for these awards is infectious and I’m humbled Studio 10 has been chosen as their broadcaster.”
State ceremonies will be held this month to announce medallists in each category and more than two hundred people will be recognised across the country. Each state medallist will be eligible to receive the Gold Medal in their category at the National Medal Ceremony.

The National Pride of Awards Ceremony will be held on November 15.
