News Digital launches Chinese mobile TV service

News Digital Media has tapped up its sister company Star to create what it claims is Australia’s first Chinese language mobile TV service.  

blackies-teenage-clubThe Star Mandarin Mobile service, in collaboration with telco 3, targets Australia’s estimated 140,000 Mandarin-speakers.

The $4-a-month service will include programmes such as Blackie’s Teenage Club (pictured), which follows 20 girls in their quest to become professional entertainers; Gossip Queen, which is one of Taiwan’s highest rating talk shows; and The Cave in which contestants endure various physical and intellectual challenges.

Kate Pepper, head of content at 3, said: “Offering our customers diversity of content is key.”
