News Ltd and Tourism Australia offer 52 Short Breaks

News Ltd has partnered with Tourism Australia to include a free travel magazine with its Sunday paper on October 10.

News Limited, in partnership with Tourism Australia, will offer readers the 52 Short Breaks magazine as a free gift with their Sunday metropolitan newspapers on October 10, 2010.

News Limited’s team of travel writers, who feature in ‘Escape’ – published each week inthe Group’s Sunday newspaper network – provide an insider’s guide on where to stay,what to see, and where to eat and drink in Australia in 52 Short Breaks. Their ultimatetravel list contains ideas for every week of the year.

Over 1.1 million copies will be distributed in six tailored versions of the magazine forreaders in New South Wales (The Sunday Telegraph), Queensland (The Sunday Mail),South Australia (Sunday Mail), Tasmania (Sunday Tasmanian), Victoria (Sunday HeraldSun) and Western Australia (Sunday Times).

The publication was inspired by the 30,000 entries to the Tourism Australia promotion thatasked Australians to share why “There’s nothing like Australia”. Each edition of 52 Short Breaks features activities and destinations that are an easy road,

plane or train trip from a capital city. From Cable Beach to Coober Pedy, and from a cheap weekend away to a luxury retreat, the magazine showcases short breaks that will suit every imagination and budget.

Packed with stunning images, expert travel writing and the most up-to-date information, the magazine aims to re-engage Australians with domestic travel and encourage them to take advantage of every weekend or short break to experience our amazing country.

52 Short Breaks is designed to inspire the Australian travelling public and deliver room night bookings for destinations that advertise and revenue opportunities for all parts of the travel industry.
