News Ltd searches for best movie marketer

News Ltd has launched its movie marketer of the year competition – looking for the best integrated film campaign.

News Limited has thrown out a challenge to Entertainment marketers in their search for the Movie Marketer of the year 2010/11.

Launched at the 2010 International Movie Convention on the Gold Coast this week, News Limited Group Director of Marketing, Joe Talcott said News Limited is looking to reward the distributor who comes up with the most powerfully integrated, multiplatform and successful movie campaign in 2010/11 with a media package across its Newspaper, Magazine and online brands.

‘The prize is awesome, we’re offering to match the winner’s media spend with News dollar for dollar on an upcoming movie campaign of their choice.

There are three preliminary periods open throughout the year. Judged by an industry panel of judges, the winner of each period will progress to the final round, from which The Movie Marketer of the Year will be determined. The winning distributor will be announced at the gala dinner at the 2011 Movie Convention.

‘News Limited is passionate about entertainment – we help promote it, our journalists publicise it and we’re a member of the industry with our 20th Century Fox association, so it makes sense for us to run a Movie Marketer of the Year competition.
