News Magazines rebrands to emphasise lifestyle focus
News Magazines has relaunched as NewsLifeMedia in a move which positions the publisher as the lifestyle publishing arm of News Limited.
According to the company “The rebranding reflects a radical overhaul of the company’s business model and its aim of becoming Australia’s leading Lifestyle and Life Stage content company.”
The company’s key verticals are Food, Fashion, Home, Health, Parenting and what it describes as Weekends.
Sandra Hook discusses the creation of NewsLifeMedia with Mumbrella editor Tim Burrowes:
Within each vertical a publisher is responsible for the performance of the portfolio across both print and online.
CEO Sandra Hook said: “With our magazines and websites working together, NewsLifeMedia will invest to accelerate the growth and commercialisation of our specialist verticals.”
The relaunch is not directly linked to next year’s likely rebranding of News Limited as News Australia.
Sounds like a Whispering Ted Lowe interview.

Enjoyed the interview Tim – is there any way you can be on the same physical level as the person you’re interviewing ( without the desk ?) – it didn’t look comfortable from the viewer ‘s angle ,,,,not sure about the interviewee

Hi Michelle,
Good feedback – funnily enough, what’s out of shot is that the sofa is now on blocks. Any more and the poor interviewees wont have their feet on the floor. The camera angle doesn’t help though!
Cheers,
Tim
‘Radical’ or blindingly obvious?
Nothing says ‘radical’ liked a 1980s logo!
