Maxus Melbourne MD Nick Keenan departs for client role

Nick KeenanNick Keenan the head of Maxus’s Melbourne office is to depart the agency, Mumbrella can reveal.

Keenan, who has been in the role since May 2013, will be joining betting company BetEasy as its commercial director.

“I want to thank Nick for his passion and energy in helping grow Maxus into a strong market position,” said Jon Chadwick CEO of Maxus Australia.

“He is one of the brightest minds in the game and we will miss him dearly. On a positive note, we are delighted that we will continue to work together as BetEasy is one of our fastest growing clients.”

Karly Fragiacomo has been appointed interim managing director of Maxus’s Melbourne office, which finished 2014 strongly by winning iSelect in a competitive pitch which saw the agency take the rare step of declaring it would close its doors new business while it bedded in the account.

Fragiacomo was previously head of client service at Maxus Melbourne.

“To ensure the stability of our team and clients in Melbourne, I’m delighted to announce that Karly Fragiacomo will step in as interim managing director, Karly has been instrumental in the growth of our team in Melbourne and will work closely with myself as we work through our succession plan,” said Chadwick.

Keenan said was sad to leave the agency but excited about the new opportunity.

He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Maxus and GroupM, it’s a network that without doubt has the best talent and product in the market and I am very proud of the work that has been achieved over the last six years.

“I am very excited about my next opportunity, I will be joining the market leader in wagering as we look to establish this business and network in 2015 and beyond.”

Keenan’s appointment is effective from March and he will stay on and ensure a smooth transition.
