Salmat hires Ten’s Nick Spooner to run digital operation
Nick Spooner, chief digital media officer of Ten and chairman of the IAB, has moved to Salmat to run its digital operation.
As CEO of Salmat Digital, Spooner will oversee the consolidation of the company’s digital capabilities, including recently acquired digital businesses, into a digital communications centre of excellence.
Ten said that a replacement for Spooner would be announced in due course. “Nick has an excellent track record in launching consumer-led digital media platforms for some of Australia’s leading media and communications companies,” said Grant Harrod, Salmat’s CEO. “We are delighted to have Nick join Salmat to head up our rapidly expanding digital communication services business and lead its growth and expansion.”
Spooner has been tasked to accelerate Salmat’s digital strategy by selling its digital services to the company’s existing client base, and by launching new digital solutions.
As well as Ten and the AIB, Spooner also brings with him experience as chief operating officer at Ninemsn and group director of product at Singtel Optus.
