Nicole Waudby appointed general manager of sales for The Australian and News Corp Prestige
News Corp Australia’s Nicole Waudby has been promoted from national sales and strategy director for prestige to general manager of sales across the portfolio and The Australian.
Her appointment follows the departure of Andrew Cook who joined Bauer Media in October as director of sales.
Waudby will report in to The Australian, NSW and prestige managing director Nicolas Gray and will commence her new role December 16.
Gray said Waudby’s work to date spoke for itself.
“Nicole has a proven track record in the business and has been pivotal in developing the News Prestige Network over the past two years, helping our luxury clients grow and demonstrating digital and experiential innovation.
“I am delighted to announce Nicole’s appointment to this role, with her commercial and industry experience she is the perfect person to lead our premium portfolio.”
Managing director of national sales Lou Barrett congratulated Waudby on the promotion.
“Nicole is an extremely experienced leader and the obvious choice to spearhead the combined prestige and The Australian team replacing Andrew Cook.
“I know she will work collaboratively and creatively with National Sales and the Newsamp team to provide our clients with best in class, results-driven marketing solutions.”
Waudby has been in sales and strategy for News Corp’s prestige titles for four and a half years. Her career spans more than 20 years in both the local and international markets. She joined News Corp Australia from Bauer Media in 2015 where she was the manager of commercial brand integration for prestige.
Waudby said: “I am delighted to be taking on a greater leadership role at such an important time in the evolution of the sales operation of The Australian. Steering the commercial success of the prestige titles has been a privilege with many milestones.
I welcome the exciting challenge of further aligning the two businesses and ensuring the News Prestige Network is the recognised leader in the market for premium brands and importantly, for services to our client partners and customers.”

How disappointing channel seven, letting Jason go!!! His sense of humour, the fact he’s down to earth made us all think he was one of us!!! He made the show!!!!! We Are not interested in the motoring, fitness, side of the show we liked the show as it is. If you want my opinion I would have dropped Graham Ross, he’s always going over seas and when he’s there he’s is boring !!!!! Not to mention he probably gets paid the big money,
Channel 7 you have lost us
