Nine again wins clear sweep of ratings week on strong MAFS audiences
Married at First Sight’s ratings dominance delivered Nine the ratings week, with a 24% share of the main channel audience and a 32.8% network share.
Nine’s shares were easily ahead of Seven’s 19.3% main channel audience and network share of 28.0%. Ten’s shares of 9.4% and 14.8%, trailed the ABC’s 12.5% and 17.5%, while SBS recorded 4.4% for its main channel and 6.6% for the network.
Leading the week’s shows was Wednesday night’s Married at First sight which attracted an audience of 1.404m metro viewers.
The other three MAFS episodes last week also topped the ratings, both in total people and in the key demographic groups including the 16-39 age group, 25-54 and shoppers with child.
Nine’s Travel Guide show was the fifth most watched show across all three metro demographics and the 11th most watched show overall across the five cities.
However the 2019 NRL season launch wasn’t such good news for Nine with the coverage failing to make the top 20 shows for the week and barely making a dent in the demographic groups.
For Seven, the best rating shows were its news and current affairs programs, which for the two main networks made up the rest of the top ten shows for the week.
My Kitchen Rules’ Monday and Sunday shows recorded metro audiences of 761,000 and 732,000 which made them the 14th and 15th most-watched shows for the week.
The most popular drama show for the week was the ABC’s Death in Paradise which attracted 717,000 viewers. The national broadcaster’s Friday night extended news covering the Christchurch terrorist attack scraped into the top twenty for the week with 688,000 viewers.
I am sorry I have watched this show for the last few years but this season and the Experts playing neiave has been to much. My wife is watching Netflix (very happy) and I now play a video game on my PS4. The last few episodes have just become enough. All though I have enjoyed the last few years of this as only last year got a little ratty and now it is to much
