Nine appoints Liana Dubois as Powered lead, Lizzie Young promoted

Nine has re-shuffled its commercial team, appointing Lizzie Young as managing director of commercial partnerships, and promoting Sydney director of sales Liana Dubois to director of Powered, its strategic client solutions arm.

The changes come two months after Nine CEO Hugh Marks revealed his new leadership team, which included Young as group director of content strategy.

Young was promoted as group content strategy director in June of 2017, but has been with the business since 2010.

Nine’s Marks said Young’s appointment was about ensuring the business used its new scale and breadth to its full capacity.

“Her new role will see her take responsibility for managing key partnerships across the group, including Domain and Stan, as we seek to capitalise on the power of the newly combined Nine across television, publishing and digital,” Marks told staff.

“Lizzie will also take on executive responsibility for co-ordinating all marketing activity (across both consumer and trade marketing) and retains oversight over content distribution strategy and execution.”

Dubois, who has worked with Nine for six years, will now oversee strategy, insights, content partnerships, client experience, Powered Studio and effectiveness.

Michael Stephenson, chief sales officer at Nine, said Dubois had an “unbelievable commercial record”.

“She has the unique combination of being both creative and analytical and she will continue to position Powered as the market leader. I can’t wait to see us create even bigger creative ideas for our advertisers that will engage consumers like no one else can and deliver real results for brands,” Stephenson said.

“Powered is a critical component of Nine’s newly aligned sales structure, as we focus on creating ‘big ideas’ for brands around our content across platform. Powered is the glue that brings together our unique assets and gives us the ability to create marketing platforms for brands across TV, digital platforms, print and magazines.”

Dubois’ replacement will be announced at a later date.
