Nine dominates Tuesday night as MAFS finds a season high

Married At First Sight and news coverage has again given Nine a nightly win, catapulting the network to a 35.2% audience share. 1.317m metro viewers tuned in for the reality format and 1.740m national viewers – giving it a new audience record for 2020.

Nine News also found another 2020 high with 1.231m metro viewers and 1.584m nationally.

Overall, Nine’s primary channel held a 27.7% audience share. The network also held the top four spots in all three of the key advertising demographics – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s – with MAFS and news.

913,000 metro viewers tuned in for A Current Affair and 759,000 for Nine’s COVID-19 evening news special which followed MAFS at 9pm. 1.240m national viewers watched A Current Affair and 988,000 tuned in to Nine News: COVID-19.

On Seven, Seven News was the most-watched with 1.256m metro viewers and 1.945m nationally. The Latest: Seven News, which has moved to a 7pm timeslot, brought in 582,000 metro viewers and 906,000 nationally. The Chase Australia was the most-watched entertainment program with 638,000 metro viewers.

Ten’s 7:30pm offering was Coronavirus: How To Isolate Yourself which brought in 304,000 metro viewers and 411,000 nationally. At 7pm, The Project delivered 581,000 metro viewers and 794,000 nationally. How Clean Is Your House delivered 179,000 metro viewers at 8:30pm.

ABC News brought in 966,000 metro viewers and 1.395m nationally. The second episode of docuseries Revelation delivered 420,000 metro viewers, while 676,000 tuned in for Foreign Correspondent. 772,000 watched 7.30.

Seven held second place behind Nine in the audience shares with 18.0% for its primary channel and 24.2% as a network. ABC secured third on 13.3% and 18.9%, while Ten slipped into fourth with 8.1% and 13.4%. 9Gem was the most-watched multi-channel with 3.9%.
