Nine dominates viewing week with NRL and The Block

Thanks to The Block and State of Origin, Nine enjoyed one of its most dominant weeks of the year last week with every one of the eight most watched shows on TV.

Seven’s best performer was family drama Packed To The Rafters, ninth for the week, while Masterchef’s Tuesday episode did best for Ten in 17th place with 1.294m viewers.

The top ten:   

  1. State of Origin match – Nine – 2.498m
  2. The Voice Monday – Nine – 2.127m
  3. State of Origin pre-match – Nine – 1.558m
  4. The Block Sunday – Nine – 1.531m
  5. The Block Monday – Nine – 1.515m
  6. The Block Tuesday – Nine – 1.452m
  7. Hamish & Andy Euro Gap Year – Nine – 1.412m
  8. Nine News Sunday – 1.385m
  9. Packed To The Rafters – Seven – 1.384m
  10. Seven News Sunday – 1.383m

Nine finished with a 25.1% weekly share of the 6pm to midnight audience, ahead of Seven on 21.6% and Ten on a drab 13.9%. ABC1 was on 11.9%.

Nine was also dominant in the key advertiser demos, while Ten beat Seven for second place in 16-39.

ABC1 had an embarrassingly small 5.1% share of the 16-39 audience. This was even behind Nine’s digital channel Go’s 5.8% share.

16-39:

Nine 28.2% | Ten 18.7% | Seven 18.6% | ABC1 5.1%

18-49:
