Nine sales boss Peter Wiltshire promoted to PBL role as Lynette Phillips departs ACP

ACP veteran Lynette Phillips has departed the company in a move which has seen Nine’s commercial boss Peter Wiltshire promoted to responsibility for sales and marketing across the whole of PBL.

The announcement came from new PBL CEO David Gyngell in the strongest signal yet of his determination to integrate the Nine Network’s TV operation with ACP Magazines and online operation NineMSN, as well as Ticketek.

Wiltshire’s new title is Group Sales and Marketing Director of the PBL Media.

According to the announcement: “The role sees Mr Wiltshire take full responsibility for the revenue performance across Nine, ACP and NineMSN, alongside marketing of the PBL Media group.”

Gyngell said: “The key for us is integration and adaptation, as we marshal the powerful resources and the great people of the whole PBL Media group in both traditional and new media. Peter’s appointment across all sales and marketing is testament to just that.”

The shakeup also saw the departure of ACP’s sales boss Phillips after 20 years, and promotion of Louise Barrett to director of sales at the magazine company. Her previous role was launching PBL’s integrated sales team Powered which she will continue to manage for now.

She said: “I”m delighted to return to ACP Magazines now that the Powered brand is established. It’s time we brought the earnings of Powered and cross media integration to the ACP Brands, and I’m excited by the challenge this represents”.

Wiltshire said: “With three of the country’s biggest media assets in their respective sectors, this is a great time to assume the role and drive our business to further success. There is an amazing talent base within the sales teams and I look forward to working closely with each of our leaders to continue to set new benchmarks in how we interact with clients and agencies.”

Last week saw Gyngell promote Phil Scott to MD of ACP Magazines and Jeff Browne to MD of the Nine Network.
