Nine takes a ratings win on a quiet Tuesday night in TV

Tuesday was a quiet night for TV ratings, with both Seven and Nine airing movies in the 8.30pm slot and Home and Away taking the top slot for most-watched entertainment program.

592,000 metro viewers tuned in for the soap at 7pm, while Zumbo’s Just Desserts brought in 341,000, Nine’s Young Sheldon delivered 470,000 for its first episode and 392,000 for the second and Ten’s The Amazing Race Australia brought in 546,000.

A quiet night in TV has added another win under Nine’s total ratings belt

Of the movies on offer, Thor: Ragnarok on Nine delivered 354,000 metro viewers while Geostorm held 272,000 for Seven. Ten aired One Born Every Minute Australia for 342,000 metro viewers.

Seven News was again the most-watched program of the night with 965,000 metro and 1.49m national viewers for the first half and 890,000 and 1.41m for the second, which still airs as Today Tonight in Adelaide and Perth. Yesterday it was announced Today Tonight would cease at the end of this week.

Nine News delivered 851,000 metro and 1.13m national viewers and ABC News 619,000 and 909,000.

ABC’s Love on the Spectrum brought in 453,000 metro viewers for its second episode. It was followed by The Prince and the Paedophile with 331,000 metro viewers.

Nine and Ten sat at the top of the key advertising demographics 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s. The Amazing Race Australia was the most-watched in all three, followed by Nine News in the latter two and One Born Every Minute Australia in the 16-39s.

Overall, Nine was the most-watched channel with metro audiences 25-54 (22.9% share) and 16-39 (22.3%).

Nine also won the night in total people, holding a channel audience share of 19.2% and a network share of 27.8%. Seven held 17.0% and 26.5%, ABC 12.8% and 17.3% and Ten 11.8% and 18.7%. 10 Bold was the most-watched multi-channel with a 4.5% share.
