Nine finished with a five city metro share of 20.6%, only narrowly ahead of Seven which captured a 19.9% share.

Seven’s performance on Saturday night gave it a share of 24.8% against Nine’s 18.3%,  but the result was not enough to give Seven the top slot for the week thanks to The Block and Married at First Sight earlier in the week.

Saturday’s top shows outside news at 6pm (Seven 820,0000 and Nine 807,000) were dominated by sport with Seven’s coverage of the clash between the Sydney Swans and Adelaide Crows attracting 789,000 at 7pm.

Nine’s NRL semi-final between the Canberra Raiders drew 488,000.

Ten managed an appearance with the top general entertainment show of the week as the final decision of The Bachelor on Thursday night drew 1.329m people.

Despite the strong showing of the dating show, Ten finished the week with a share of 12.8% ahead of the ABC with 11.9% and SBS with 4.2%.

Seven’s best performing show of the week outside its news and Today Tonight was Sunday Night which drew 852,000 while The Big Music Quiz on Sunday night drew 843,000.

The ABC’s top rating show of the week was Australian Story featuring Flow Hive inventor Cedar Anderson.
