Nine revives This Is Your Life
Nine is to revive celebrity bio show This Is Your Life with a new version filmed in front of a live audience at Crown Casino’s The Palms and fronted by Eddie McGuire.
The network last aired the show with a short series in 2008 hosted by Mike Monro who hosted since 1995.
Other previous hosts of the format, which first aired in Australia on Seven in 1975, included Geordi Hunt, Digby Wolfe and Andrew Barbeler.
Executive producer, Adrian Dellevergin said: “We will adopt a whole new look as we celebrate the lives of our most treasured and admired Australians. We’re taking a much loved format out of its studio setting and turning it into major event television.”
Tim Burrowes founded Mumbrella in 2008. He worked on Mumbrella until 2021. At various points he was editor, content director and editor-at-large.

Mumbrella Nov 10th – Meanwhile, Nine’s National IQ Test, hosted by Eddie McGuire, proved not to be event television, despite the insertion of gamecards into metro newspapers. The show was Australia’s most watched broadcast of 2002 with an audience of 2.8m, but last night’s new version was ninth for the night with 1.03m viewers.
When will the Channel 9 team learn that re-hashing old show formats and fronting them with ‘Everywhere’ Eddie McGuire just does – not – work!
