Nine unveils major sponsors for 2021 season of Australian Ninja Warrior

Nine has named the six major sponsors of the forthcoming season of Australian Ninja Warrior, which premieres this Sunday, 20 June.

Health insurer AIA Australia joins the show for the first time, alongside returning sponsors Aldi, Bendigo Bank, Energizer, KFC and Nutri-Grain, all back for seasons five.

Nine’s director of Powered, Liana Dubois, said the new season will feature bespoke in-show branding that will complement brand campaign messaging as well as the narrative of the series.

For AIA Australia, this will include eight integrated TV commercials created by Nine’s Powered Studios, reflecting the brand’s ‘Small steps to a healthier you’ campaign. The spots will feature Ninjas and Australian Ninja Warrior sideline commentator Shane Crawford.

The TVCs will run throughout the series in line with the appearances of four featured Ninjas, Dylan James, Zac Stolz, Chris White and Raphaela Wiget. Branding will also be featured on digital perimeter screens around the course.

Dubois said: “Ninja Warrior’s return brings with it a stellar group of brand partners, all looking to capitalise on the exceptional communal viewing this family favourite delivers. We are thrilled to be working with each partner, using deep sponsorship effectiveness know-how to ensure we deliver strong ROI.”

AIA Australia and New Zealand CEO and Managing Director, Damien Mu, said he was excited for AIA to be associated with the peak performances that take place during the show.

“We are focused on helping Australians live healthier, longer, better lives. Whether your dream is to be an elite athlete or simply to improve your health, it’s inspiring to see how far you can go with small steps every day.”

Nutri-Grain is back for its second year with the program, and will have branded commercial break ‘engagers’ re-capping in-show moments. Plus, brand ambassador Ky Hurst will compete as a Ninja.

Energizer returns for a third year, and will have its branding on The Power Tower, as well as part of the on-screen timer.

Meanwhile, Aldi is back for another year, and will have branding across the Leader-board and Hero-board.

KFC is back for a fifth year, as a premium sponsor through billboard association, and Bendigo Bank will also return through billboard association.

This year’s season will see hosts Shane Crawford, Ben Fordham and Rebecca Maddern are joined by Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios.
