Nine wins first official ratings night of 2012
The first night of the official 2012 Australian TV ratings season was won by Nine, which claimed 22.9% audience share – 0.5% head of rival Seven.
Nine News Sunday was the most watched show of the night, with 1.55m viewers, and the network would have been helped by the close-run finale of the one day cricket match between Australia and India, which drew over 1m.
Seven was beaten into second place, with Seven News rating 1.18m and Sunday Night 1.133m.
But Ten won the night in the 16-39 demographic with the top 3 shows – Comedy New Girl drew 521,000, 429,000 watched Modern Family and 391,000 watched the first episode of Homeland.
