Nine wins the night, while ABC1’s Australian Story sees strong return
Nine led the first official Monday ratings night of the year with a new episode of Two and a Half Men, while ABC1’s Australian Story saw a strong series return.
Overall, free-to-air TV viewing saw Channel Nine attract a 26.6 per cent share, followed by Channel Seven with 25.5 per cent and Channel Ten with 17.3 per cent in the five metropolitan cities according to preliminary overnight OzTam data.
The result for Ten was markedly down from its Sunday night performance when it overtook Nine thanks largely to the premier of US drama The Good Wife.
Ten failed to get a program on the top ten list last night. Today it launched its new all-women chat show The Circle, which premiered at 10am. It’s up against Nine’s Mornings with Kerri-Anne and Seven’s ratings leader the Morning Show.
Who watches Two and a Half Men? Seriously….
@anon,
Erm… apparently 1.4m people.
I thought no one watched TV!
Tim are you sure these numbers are correct, because from my reading they should all be 0.
But who Matt? Who are they? What kind of person would willingly sit through it?
To quote Homer:
You can see the soulless emptiness in that sharks eyes. [changes channels]
Ooh, Two and a Half Men. You can see the soulless emptiness in Charlie Sheens eyes.
Great to see that quality can still win out – I dip in and out of Australian Story, but Monday night’s show was outstanding TV – I watched it with my 7 and 10 year old kids (and my wife), and they sat, absolutely silent, through the whole show.
2 1/2 men is a stinker, granted, but it’s not as bad as My Kitchen Rules – I think the format is quite cool, but the pacing is soooooooo slow – direct from the Eddie Maguire school of turning 3 minutes of content into a 30 minute show…I predict a swift fall for that one.
