Nine wins Wednesday night as The Block dominates

Nine has won Wednesday night television with a 24.7% overall audience share.

The Block, Nine’s renovation series, was the most watched TV program for the evening with 1.352m metro viewers, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

The Block was also the most watched program in key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Nine News at 6pm was the second most watched program for the channel as 937,000 viewers tuned in.

Holding the top three most watched programs, Nine News at 6.30pm was the third most watched show for the evening with 901,000 metro viewers.

Seven finished in second for the night with a 15.5% audience share as Seven News at 6pm was its most watched program, attracting 870,000 viewers.

Seven News/Today Tonight at 6.30pm was the stations second most watched program with 868,000 viewers, followed by Home and Away’s 649,000.

Ten came third for Wednesday night television with a 13.1% audience share.

Its flagship show The Bachelorette was the most popular program for the channel with 812,000 viewers watching on as Sophie Monk sent another Bachelor home.

Ten’s The Project, which was the second most watched show for the station and the 14th most watched program overall, managing 541,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile ABC finished with an audience share of 11.9% as Gruen scored 806,000 viewers. SBS finished with a 4.8% audience share.
