Nine wins Thursday night but The Bachelor and Gogglebox top key demos

The Bachelor’s 709,000 metro viewers and Gogglebox’s 669,000 gave Ten a 15.4% primary channel share on Thursday night, behind Seven’s 17.8% and Nine’s 19.9%.

But the Ten reality shows topped all three key advertising demographics of those aged 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Seven News once again was the best-performing program of the night,  with 961,000 metro viewers and 905,000 for the second half, which airs as Today Tonight in some states.

Nine News secured 859,000 metro viewers for its 6:30pm slot and 840,000 for 6-6:30pm. A Current Affair came in behind the news offerings with 718,000 metro viewers.

ABC’s 7.30 saw 500,000 metro viewers tune in to see its ‘gridlock’ episode, focusing on the congestion commuters are facing in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

ABC’s share for the night was ABC 8.8%.

Nine’s Gem was the best-performing multi-channel with a 4.3% share.

With the addition of multi-channels, Nine won the night with 29.2%, ahead of Seven’s 28.1%, Ten’s 20.6%, ABC’s 13.3% and SBS’ 8.8%.
