Nine wins Tuesday night as True Story with Hamish & Andy returns

Nine secured a Tuesday night win, as The Block and the return of True Story with Hamish & Andy dominated other entertainment programs, and led all key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).

Nine’s The Block pulled 1.044m metro viewers, while Hamish & Andy’s return was down on previous episodes, with 878,000 metro viewers tuning in at 8:40pm, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

The show previously ran at 8:30pm on a Monday, but took a three-week break for Nine’s Ninja Warrior.

Nine’s The Block topped all key advertising demographics while True Story with Hamish & Andy placed second.

Competing for the 7:30pm time slot was Ten’s Survivor, which attracted 600,000 metro viewers, while Seven’s Mighty Cruise Ships reached 580,000 metro viewers.

Survivor came in third across the key ad demographics.

Later in the evening,  Seven’s Diana’s Death: Search for the Truth averaged 592,000 viewers, while Ten’s Shark Tank achieved 440,000 metro city viewers.

Home and Away was Seven’s most-watched entertainment program, with 775,000 metro viewers.

The return of Kath & Kim on Nine at 9:15pm, had 572,000 while its 9:45pm episode captured 456,000 metro viewers, beating Seven’s Yummy Mummies’ average metro audience of 263,000.

Seven News topped the ratings ladder on Monday night, with 1.080m metro viewers while Nine News placed fifth at 1.008m.

The average audience shares saw Nine win the night at 22.1%, with Seven’s share at 18.7% and Ten’s at 13.2%.

ABC’s share was 10.8% and SBS had a share of 4.5%.
