Nine wins Wednesday as news programming dominates

Nine celebrated a network share win on Wednesday, after a night when news made up the top seven programs.

A 29.8% share gave Nine the win over Seven with 26.9%, Ten with 19.2% and ABC with 15.5%, while Channel Nine was also the top-rating primary channel.

Nine News won all three key advertising demos in metro markets

Despite winning the night, Nine didn’t have the top-rating program overall. That honour went to Seven News, with 1.181 million metro viewers, ahead of Nine News in second with 1.174 million metro viewers.

Nine News managed to win all three key advertising demos across the five metro markets.

The top-rating entertainment program was The Chase Australia, which had 634,000 metro viewers for Seven. It was followed by Home And Away with 634,000 metro viewers.

Ten’s MasterChef Australia won primetime, with 616,000 metro viewers, and was the #10 program overall. Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior had 615,000 metro viewers.

The #1 multi-channel on Wednesday was 9Gem, with a 4.5% share.
