Nine’s The Block has an easy Tuesday night win

Nine’s The Block attracted 1.083m metro viewers last night, defeating rival shows in its time slot – Hell’s Kitchen and Shark Tank – by more than 550,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s Hell’s Kitchen, which also ran at 7:30pm, dipped slightly from last week’s 540,000 metro viewers, to 504,000.

The Block is well ahead of its competitors in the same time slot

Both shows beat Ten’s Shark Tank – which pulled a metro audience of 458,000.

The Block also topped the key advertising demographics – the 16-39s, 18-49s, and 25-54s, according to OzTam’s overnight preliminary ratings.

Shark Tank placed fifth in the 16-39s.

In the later time slot, Nine’s offering – True Story with Hamish & Andy – dominated with 760,000 metro viewers, sitting in second across the key ad demographics.

It beat a second episode of Hell’s Kitchen, which attracted 488,000 metro viewers.

ABC’s most watched program was its news offering, with 789,000 metro viewers.

In entertainment, ABC’s The House with Annabel Crabb defeated Hell’s Kitchen’s second episode, with 634,000 metro viewers.

Seven News collected the win among the news programs last night, with 1.038m metro viewers ahead of Nine News’ 989,000.

According to the average audience shares, Nine won the night with a share of 22%.

Seven’s share was 17.5%, ABC’s was 12.5%, Ten’s was 12.2%, and SBS collected a share of 4.9%.
