Nine’s creative hangover
Regular observers will be aware that Nine’s promo team is, shall we say, unafraid to draw inspiration from other cultural sources.
There was, for instance, the rip-off of a Bear Grylls ad for the now sadly deceased Rescue Special Ops.
And now comes the network’s promo for House Husbands, which appears to share a fair bit of DNA with The Hangover. The baby’s even wearing fricking sunglasses.
Dr Mumbo can only hope that the programming is more original then the promo. But he’s not holding his breath.
(Hat-tip: Sunday telegraph)
Mumbrella sourcing a story from the Tele poking fun at Nine for having a similar poster to The Hangover movie. Pot, kettle, black anyone?

OK … no-one’s allowed to use three men and a baby any more. Hang on … wasn’t that a TV show. Double jeopardy !

I think it would be fair to call this a homage rather than a copyright violation.

House Husbands has a steeple. The Hangover (and it’s ground-breaking sequel) didn’t.
Did that go how you expected? Na-hah!
Fail.

The BB shuffle (which may I add had no ‘real’ relevance to the program was disturbingly similar to an old Club V promo too.

I would love to see a Mumbrella interview with the Head of Promos/Creative Director as a follow-up.

It’s really more like entourage (season 1 cover) than the hangover. The only similarity to the hangover ad is the baby.
