Nine’s Domestic Blitz wins the battle for 6.30
In a tight three-way battle for Sunday night that saw just 39,000 viewers separate the three big 6.30pm shows, Nine’s returning Domestic Blitz has grabbed the bragging rights.
Domestic Blitz pulled in 1.339m viewers, according to preliminary metro ratings from OzTam. Seven’s Dancing With The Stars reached an average of 1.301m, while the return of Ten’s Australian Idol was only 1000 behind on exactly 1.3m
The successful return for Domestic Blitz will come as a huge relief for Nine, which has seen several series debuts and series returns fall flat in recent weeks.
And SBS also had a reason to celebrate on Sunday night. For the first time this year, it had a show in the top 15 most watched. Its coverage of Australia’s romp to victory in the fourth test of The Ashes series pulled in an average of 804,000 viewers.
However, Ten will be pleased with its strong showing in key demographics, includign for Australian Idol. And Seven won the share battle for Sunday.
Sunday’s share: Seven 25.5%; Nine 24.9%; Ten 24.5%; ABC 12.9%; SBS 12.3%

Would 60 minutes rating include the 10 minutes of ads that they put in place of a story that was apparently axed at the last minute? Nine has lost the plot.
