Nine’s Travel Guides returns with new overseas destinations

Nine has announced that Travel Guides will return in April with all-new episodes, and including international destinations once again.

The last series of the program was an all-domestic affair, with the teams reviewing all-Australian destinations after COVID-19 forced the series to film locally.

The new series will cover a mix of overseas and local destinations, including Greece, Mauritius, South Korea, Cambodia, South Australia, and the Kimberley in far north-western Australia.

Nine confirmed to Mumbrella that of the all-new episodes, some were filmed pre-COVID and others were filmed post-COVID.

Travel Guides will continue to be narrated by Denise Scott, with each episode to see the five groups of travel critics head to the same location for the same week-long holiday, reviewing the cuisine, accommodation and more.

The Fren family, cowgirls Stack and Mel, retirees Kevin and Janetta, friends Kev, Dorian and Teng, and longtime couple Matt and Brett, will all return for the new series.

Travel Guides will air on Channel 9, and 9Now, on Wednesday, 14 April at 7:30pm.

April is shaping up as a key month in the television battle for 2021, with Seven expected to air its latest season of Big Brother.

Meanwhile, Ten’s new series of Masterchef looks set to hit screens after Easter, around last year’s air date which was April 13.
