Ninja Warrior helps Nine deliver second dominant rating week

Nine has delivered a second decisive weekly ratings victory over rivals Seven and Ten thanks to the strength of Ninja Warrior.

Since the launch of Ninja Warrior, Nine has only for the second time this year delivered two weekly victories in a row.

Meanwhile, Seven’s share was the lowest of the official ratings year so far, thanks to being squeezed by both Ninja Warrior and finals week of Masterchef on Ten.

According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary ratings, Nine’s Sunday to Saturday average audience share, including non-commercial competitors, was 23.2%, ahead of Seven’s 17.8%, Ten’s 13%, ABC’s 11% and SBS’ 5.8%.

Nine also won in all the major advertising-friendly demographics of16-39s, 25-54s, and Grocery Buyers with Child.

This week’s top 10 shows were also dominated by Nine, with Ninja Warrior’s Sunday, Monday and Tuesday episodes the three most watched programs among metro audiences.

Nine News Sunday was the most watched news program of the week.

Meanwhile, Seven recovered last night, with Seven News winning the night with 847,000 metro viewers, ahead of Nine News Saturday, which reached 839,000.

Tonight, Masterchef will air its penultimate episode ahead of the series grand finale tomorrow, while Ninja Warrior will continue its semi-final episodes, with its grand finale to air on Tuesday.
