Nissan appoints Edelman as global agency

Automotive company Nissan has appointed public relations agency Edelman as its global agency.

Edelman’s appointment to the account in Australia follows the previous local practice of Nissan using agencies on a project by project basis.

Steve Spurr, Edelman Australia’s CEO, said in a statement top Mumbrella: “We are honoured to have been selected to work with Nissan locally.

“Australia is one of the most competitive markets in the world for auto makers, and Nissan has quietly been at the forefront of many major innovations impacting our world today and in the future. We are looking forward to sharing Nissan’s stories locally to inspire the hearts and minds of Australians.”

A Nissan spokesperson told Mumbrella: “We are excited to welcome the Edelman team to the Nissan family and look forward to working with them on the modernization of our global communications function and supporting the growth strategy of our company and our brands.”

Other clients of Edelman’s include Disney, KFC, Samsung, Kellogg Australia, Adobe, GSK, NIVEA, Kleenex, Huggies, PayPal, LinkedIn and CBA.
