Australia has failed to win a single lion in the new mobile category at Cannes.
The two Melbourne agencies that were in contention, JWT Melbourne for Stories unbound for Melbourne Writers Festival and Patts Melbourne’s Mobile Medic for Australian Defence Force, which has won handsomely in other categories, could not convert their nominations into lions.
The grand prix went to the US, with Hilltop Re-imagined for Coca-Cola, a campaign for Google by New York agency Grow Interactive.
The mobile category was introduced at Cannes this year. There were 965 entries from all over the world, with 44 from Australia. There were no entries from New Zealand.
