Former JWT CEO Noel Magnus returns to industry as managing director of Reborn

NoelMagnus10[3]Former CEO of JWT Australasia Noel Magnus has been appointed as managing director of independent communications agency Reborn.

The appointment sees Magnus return to the communications world having been in general business consultancy and working in legal for the past three years. Most recently Magnus was working for The Clock’s Ticking, a consultancy he had founded which offered advice in remuneration, supplier deals, digital integration, new business and business analysis for marketing firms in Australasia.

On his return to the industry Magnus said: “While I learned a hell of a lot during my time out of the industry, I sure as hell missed it too. I absolutely love agency life and working with genuinely creative thinkers. Needless to say, I didn’t find too many of them in the Law.”

Magnus worked for JWT for three years from 2007 to 2010. Prior to JWT, he was the managing director of the now defunct DraftFCB for a year, managing partner of Publicis Mojo for two years and head of account management at M&C Saatchi Melbourne for four years.

On Magnus’ appointment, co-founders of Reborn David Easton and Sabir Samtani said: “Noel brings genuine seniority to Reborn. He is an established communications industry executive with many years of national and international experience. He is passionate, driven and proven. We are very excited to have him on board to help steer Reborn along with several other brands we will be introducing to the market in the next few months.”

On the decision to join Reborn Magnus said he had been “looking for an agency that was relatively new, highly relevant, independent, progressive and genuinely ambitious – I found that in Reborn.

“I have loads of respect for what Sabir, David and the team have achieved so far -it’s a great story. But it’s only the beginning, we have ambitious plans – so watch this space”.

Reborn’s clients include Nestle, Dyson, Guess, Lion Drinks & Dairy, Domain, Colgate, Tourism Queensland, Suntory, Peroni and McPhersons.
