Former JWT boss Noel Magnus behind consultancy The Clock’s Ticking

Noel MagnusNoel Magnus, the former country head of JWT Australia, is behind a business consultancy for small ad and marketing firms.

Called The Clock’s Ticking, the Sydney-based consultancy offers advice in remuneration, supplier deals, digital integration, new business and business analysis for marketing firms in Australasia.

Magnus told Mumbrella that his firm is not taking on the likes of Navigare, TrinityP3 or The Agency Register, because he won’t be running pitches or assessing client relationships.

“I’m a consultant who can come into small and medium sized firms, help them reengineer  their businesses that give them back the confidence they had when they first started, and get them growing again,” he told Mumbrella.

Explaining the thinking behind the name, he said: “There’s no time like the present. In an economic climate like this, people have just got to get on with it.”

“And as a consultant, you need to use me wisely, because the clock is ticking,” he said.

He would not divulge the clients he works with.

The Clock’s Ticking competes with Walker Moult, which was launched by former Ogilvy boss Tom Moult last month.

Magnus had been searching for a new role after leaving design agency Cowan, where he was COO, after a three-month stint.

He joined Cowan after a while out of the industry after suffering a recreational injury.

Magnus spent three years, between 2007 and 2010, as CEO of JWT.

He has also worked in senior roles at Leo Burnett, M&C Saatchi, Mojo and DraftFCB.
