Noisy gains new business director from UM Australia

Andrew 'AJ' Harris
Noisy — a culture and music agency — has hired a former creative connections director from UM Australia to serve as its newest business director.
Andrew “AJ” Harris is joining Noisy after four years at UM. He entered the IPG Mediabrands-backed agency in 2021 as a senior integrated planner. He was promoted to senior creative connections designer in July 2022, before taking on the creative connections director position in July last year, leading its media partnerships with alcohol giant, Lion.
Harris’ other UM clients included Target, ING, Optus and Energizer, and his remit covered execution, development and strategy of brand partnerships.
At Noisy, Harris’ job is to build partnerships for the agency’s clients to help them “stay at the forefront of what’s possible in music culture”. He begins at the agency immediately.
“Music is at the heart of everything we do at noisy, and having someone with AJ’s genuine passion for music will overflow onto client campaigns,” Noisy’s managing director, Harry Wilson, said in a media release.
“The smart brands are realising there’s more to interacting in music culture than just putting a logo on a stage, and noisy makes that a reality.
“Combined with his experience working with some of the country’s biggest advertisers, AJ will be a huge asset as we continue to deliver cultural connections and creative ideas for our clients.”
Outside of UM, Harris spent two years as Southern Cross Austereo’s senior audio account manager. His career has also given him international experience, having worked in account management and partnership roles at influencer and social agency Jungle Creations, and outdoor media organisation JCDecaux — both in London.
“I’m thrilled to be joining noisy at such an exciting time, and to bring my experience in media partnerships, strategy, ideation, and execution to help build on the incredible foundation already in place,” Harris said in the release.
“I’m passionate about the intersection of music and culture and look forward to contributing to a team that’s authentically shaping the future of events, culture, and music media.”
