Nonagenarian gives Valentine’s Day love advice in radio spot for Tip Top

George Weston Foods’ white bread brand Tip Top has launched a Valentine’s Day radio spot that plays on the new brand’s adopted nickname, ‘The one’.

In the spot, a 91-year-old woman draws on her life experience to offer love advice to lady listeners.

Simon Veksner, creative director at DDB Sydney, the agency that made the ad, commented: “The campaign idea is all about comparing the satisfaction you get from Tip Top’s The One, which is everything you could want in a bread, with the satisfaction of meeting The One in a romantic sense. Therefore a Valentine’s Day ad was a natural fit. We think this execution is charming but cheeky, and will stand out from the normal Valentine’s Day slush.”

The radio ad builds on the TV spot launched a fortnight ago that featured a man dressed as a loaf of white bread.
