Not much TV love for Bert
Nine’s Saturday night celebration of veteran presenter Bert Newton’s 75th birthday proved not to be a major draw for TV viewers.
Happy 75th Bert! Celebrating A TV Legend rated a metro audience of 513,000, according to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTAM. It was tenth most watched show of Saturday.
Saturday’s most watched show was Seven News, which rated 983,000.
Ten;s most ewatched prgoramme was News At Five, whch rated 420,000.
Weekend Sunrise on Seven narrowly beat Nine’s Weekend Today by 306,000 to 286,000.

Maybe nobody other than old foggies at Channel 9 actually give a sh*t. That time-slot on a Saturday night is pretty kids/family-skewed. Can’t see too many 8 year olds being interested in rehashed guff of Bert from 1973. Oh, the Muhammad Ali skit! That hasn’t been wheeled out 28,000 times now, has it!
