Nothing to see here folks…
So Kim Williams is gone and Dr Mumbo really doesn’t know where the accusations that News Corp Australia is running a vendetta against Kevin Rudd and Labor come from.
Sure today’s Courier Mail welcome the return of former Premier Peter Beattie with a front page splash that reads: “Send in the Clown”. But it’s not like there is a steady stream of negative front pages…
Well not unless you count yesterday’s effort which photoshopped Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Deputy Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as Nazis, in a scene out straight out of 60s sitcom Hogan Heroes.
And this of course followed Monday’s effort which, Dr Mumbo notes, editor Paul Whittaker is today taking full credit for, (‘Telegraph insiders’ are quite clear that the controversial Col Allan had nothing to do with it, reports The Australian).
The front page with a photo of Rudd and declaring “Kick this mob out” has made international news as the media speculates about a Rupert Murdoch agenda.
But viewed in it’s full totality there’s really nothing to see here folks…
Dr Mumbo awaits the next four weeks of the campaign with much interest.
Yes, such terrible headlines for a Gov’t that has done so much for the country. In the words of General Burkhalter “They should all be sent to the Russian Front”!

The Gov’t that is – not News Corp. It’s definitely heavily biased but a true reflection of the majority view and not the microcosm opinions that are displayed on the ABC (Leigh Sales excepted as an objective journo).
400 Billion dollars of dept divided by 23 Million Australians is a lot isn’t it?

Interesting that the ABC’s Q&A programme runs every week with at least 80% of the panel either Labor, or heavily Left/Socialist in views – however, where is Mumbrella’s view on this.
We get b grade actors and comedians on the panel that are clearly digging at the Liberal/National panel member (can’t really say members plural). I wonder if they will ever invite somone who is supposedly “neutral” to have go at the Labor panelists?
I bet if Q&A was stacked – even for once – with a Liberal/National/Right panel – we’d hear all the bleating about it but instead…..wait for it…..silence.

I know at least one Liberal that Q&A would just love to have on. They’ve been asking all year.

As a taxpayer funded organization the ABC should be told not to produce
Labor-biased programs such as Q&A. Good on Murdoch reminding us the Labor government is the worst in Australian history.

Spin … yep that’s what you’re doing you dolt.

So Robin, I take it that your are fine with the rampant bias of the Murdoch press and the AM talk-back stations simply because they are privately held.

The ABC should keep out of politics.

Just saw a replay on Q&A and although I dont vote for the coalition, I have to say that claims of a pro Labor audience stacking seem well founded. The continual laughs and clapping at the snyde remarks of the comic panelist directed at the conservative Pyne was quite off putting as was the loaded and pointed questioning by Tony, the moderator. The Labor panelists received very little such attention and disrespect.
Aunty, I think its time that some balance was restored to this show as its anti conservative bias has become just too overt and a little embarrassing.
Why give a possible coalition government the ammunition it needs when cosidering your funding?

Spin, plenty of chances to catch right wing bias mate…the Bolt Report, any news limited paper, the AFR, most of the business programmes……we need a little bias the other way, the ABC is doing fine…
PS $400 Billion in debt? where’d ya pull that from?

Where do People like Spin appear from?
never commented on a Mumbrella article ever, something with a political slant comes out and the LNP hacks are out in force.

I think you will find that electronic media has a far wide raudience and is more influential than print. More importantly- those papers are privately owned, but ALL Australians pay taxes that fund the ABC which by law is obligated to present an unbiased perspective. We all have the right to have a fairer Aunty
PS That $400 Billion figure didn’t come from me. I think the actual figure is roughly $250 Billion-
