SPONSOR POST: You did it all for love, but now it’s time for money.

Boy do you guys deserve more lion-shaped trophies and giant pencils! Were we genuinely impressed at the level of entries we received – with ideas so big our inbox nearly exploded (slight dramatisation).

The Nova crew sat down and sifted through the entries with Tim, the faithful editor of this site, to select the idea that best answered the brief – to spread the names of Merrick, Dools & Ricki-Lee to the masses.

The winner we’re pleased to announce was Aaron Monks and the team at Blue Sky Multimedia.

Aaron and his team negotiated with the Sydney Roosters and sponsor Steggles to give up their logo placement on team jerseys for one match – instead swapping it out with our logo and wording.

So this Sunday August 8, when you tune into the Nine Network to watch the Roosters take on the Dragons at the Sydney Cricket Ground, you’ll see all the players wearing jerseys with our branding on them.

On top of that, the Roosters will hold up a banner live on TV announcing that the Roosters Root for Merrick, Dools & Ricki-Lee, and the big screens at the match will plug the brekky show to an expected crowd of over 25,000. Pretty damn cool.

Congratulations to Aaron at Blue Sky Multimedia and his workmates who have won $10,000 cash for their idea and we’re told will splash it out on a big lunch – let’s hope rooster isn’t on the menu. Also a big congratulations to the Steggles Charity Nest – which supports children’s charities – who now have $100,000 in Nova national airtime under their wings to give to other charities.
