Melbourne radio ratings: Nova 100 shines
Nova 100 was the biggest winner in the radio ratings for Melbourne, increasing its weekday audience by 1%, according to figures from Nielsen.
Its breakfast slot was up 1.1% to 7.1% share – good news for breakfast show hosts Hughsey & Kate.
Market leader 3AW saw its lead slip, dropping by 0.7% to 17.3% share overall. It was down 0.5% at breakfast, to 20.9% share – and was the biggest casualty of the Melbourne survey.
Triple J fared poorly too, down 0.7% overall, and 1% in the breakfast slot.
It was a disappointing survey overall for Melbourne radio stations with only six – Magic, Fox FM, Gold, 3MMM, Nova 100 and Melbourne’s 91.5 – of the 15 stations surveyed growing their ratings.
More to follow
Again, you have failed to appreciate the difference between a 1% increase and an increase of 1 percentage point.
Last survey Nova had a 7.6% share. This survey they have a 8.6% share. That is an increase of 13.2% period-on-period, or an increase of 1 percentage point.

MTR, dead radio station walking. With no Fairfax sale, time’s gotta be up. Will it go back to oldies? Magic could do with the competition, look at that fat 5.9 share…
