Airing in the 8.30pm timeslot,  it was less than a third the size of the audience for Underbelly Razor, which rated 1.293m for Nine, according to preliminary metro ratings from OzTam.

Seven’s Bones rated 907,000 in the 8.30pm slot. Mobbed was also beaten by The No 1 Ladies Letective Agency on ABC1, which rated 702,000.

Although Mobbed rated dreadfully for Ten, it had been a surprise hit in the US – when the pilot aired on Fox 8 in March it pulled in more than 10m viewers, leading to a series being commissioned.

Meanwhile, in a rare triumph for current affairs, the top show of the night was 60 Minutes on Nine, which rated 1.372m.

Also on Nine, Frozen Planet, featuring the nature of the north and south poles, rated 1.236m, outrating Sunday Night (1.125m) on Seven which also focused on Antarctica.

For Seven, Wild Boys rated 899,000.

Nine comfortably won the ratings with a 25.2% share. Ten was fourth with 11.4%.

SBS1 had a terrible Sunday, vying with 7Two for joint ninth for the day.
