SmoothFM and Fairfax kick off separate campaigns to inspire creative use of their platforms

Two media companies have kicked off campaigns aimed at inspiring more creative uses of their platforms today, with Nova Entertainment starting s Creative Challenge and Fairfax Media launching ‘Get Inspired’.

Nova’s competition launching today is open to any brand to come up with creative ads for its SmoothFM network of stations as well as its recently launched digital platform, with a $500,000 integrated campaign on offer across the network for the winning entry.

Entries are being accepted from in-house teams or agencies on behalf of the clients, with a judging panel including Network Ten’s Russel Howcroft, Nova’s marketer Tony Thomas, Australian Ballet’s marketing director Penny Rowland and Andre Eikmeier, CEO of Vnomofo choosing the winning entry.

Kate Day, NOVA Entertainment National Commercial Strategy Director for CREATE said, “Over the last four years smoothfm has gone from strength to strength, with its unique content model that now extends naturally into the digital and experiential environments. With a multiplatform national footprint and a loyal audience proven to be highly engaged, smooth presents incredible commercial potential for advertisers. We’re excited to see some exceptional ideas come through this initiative to inspire possibility and further ignite the industry’s interest in smooth.”

The competition is open for six weeks and close on July 15 and more details can be found here.

Separately Fairfax has launched a new ‘Get Inspired’ campaign to push the opportunities in advertising across its print and digital platforms, which sales boss Tom Armstrong said is aimed at inspiring “inspiration for advertisers looking for innovative ways to reach our large and engaged audiences”.
