Nova’s Ben & Liam broadcast live from an Adelaide billboard

Nova Adelaide breakfast team Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton have given new meaning to out-of-home engagement, taking their show live to a billboard in central Adelaide.

The duo conducted the full broadcast of off their Thursday morning show suspended in front of a billboard on Rydges South Park, Adelaide, something they claimed is a “world first” for a radio show.

Ahead of the broadcast, Harvey and Stapleton said they were surprised that the Nova bosses had let the idea get off the ground.

“We can’t believe we convinced the bosses to give us a billboard to do whatever we want. We thought instead of a picture of us, why not chuck our actual selves on there to give people the authentic experience,” they said in a statement.

Nova 91.9 program director admitted he was “worried” ahead of the broadcast, and said he couldn’t believe “they’ve actually been able to make this happen”.

The broadcast went out live throughout the morning on Nova’s socials, with Ben and Liam posting their own updates live from the billboard as well.

There was plenty of engagement from their fans, who tooted, waved, and took their own social videos as they walked and drove past the billboard site.

Ben and Liam’s human billboard was made possible by Tim Kennedy and Melissa Wyness from Adelaide agency MediaNest.

MediaNest managing director Kennedy said; “When Ben and Liuam came to us with their crazy idea we wanted to do everything to make it happen.

“We pride ourselves on innovative solutions for our clients so it was an opportunity too good to pass up.”
