NSW government launches the Screen NSW Film Scout iPhone app

The NSW government has launched the Screen NSW Film Scout iPhone app.

The announcement:

The new Screen NSW Film Scout iPhone app has been launched and is now available in the App Store.

An invaluable tool for location managers and local and international film producers, the app literally puts into the palm of your hand a searchable database of NSW filming locations, including more than 40,000 photographs, plus additional helpful information such as film contacts and directory, local government contacts and location authorities, plus NSW’s film friendly Local Government Filming Protocol.

The app sits alongside the new Screen NSW’s online Locations Database, which is the first outside of the United States to be linked to the industry standard Reel-Scout, a powerful online tool for finding and promoting film locations.

“Screen NSW has developed both the Screen NSW Film Scout iPhone app and the online Locations Database in close consultation with the industry and what we now have is amongst the very best in the world. NSW now has a clear competitive edge in pitching for film and television projects to come here, and provides our location scouts an immensely valuable tool to enhance their professional capabilities,” said Screen NSW CEO Maureen Barron.
