Nudie appoints Magnum PR for new product launch
Nudie, the fruit drink brand, has appointed Magnum PR to handle marketing activity for a new product launch.
The agency will commence work on the six-month project this week, with the product expected to be revealed next month.
Nudie has not had a retained PR agency in two years. It had previously worked with Bang PR.
Magnum PR has also taken on the PR account for family-owned brand Sandhurst Fine Foods, which specialises in a range of Italian products including antipasto, olives, oils, vinegars, spreads and pastes.
In addition to ongoing retainer work with Colgate-Palmolive, the Sydney-based agency is also now heading up a number of extra projects for the FMCG company.
PR activity has included the re-launch of Ajax Spray n’ Wipe, new toothpastes Colgate WISP and Colgate Total Advanced Clean, a new product launch for detergent brand Dynamo, and a campaign for Palmolive.
Surely they should have used Naked?
(c’mon, you thought I was gonna not go for the obvious?)

Joe, I don’t think they’d be able to trademark that name: there was already a Californian company with the name ‘Naked Juice’. ‘Nudie’ is a childish variation of the same word, but in a sense ‘Kiddie’ may have been more appropriate.
for my taste, Nudie has never appealled — the juice is fine, but there are plenty of competing products that are very similar. the Nudie point of difference is their image, a naked child on a tiny, bland bottle of colourful juice, sacharine sweet and cutesy, clearly the target demographic is tweens, (along with the occasional paedo).
perhaps this PR switch is to shift the focus of their target customers — if so, they really should rethink the styling.
