Nunn Media nabs Affinity’s Giorgia Butler as head of strategy and innovation

Affinity’s senior strategist and brand director, Giorgia Butler, has joined independent media agency Nunn Media as head of strategy and innovation for its Sydney office.

Her appointment follows a lengthy recruitment process as Nunn Media, already the largest independent media agency in the country with a headcount of more than 90, continues to grow.

Following recent client wins including Essano, MG, Palliative Care Australia, Shoes & Sox, The Lottery Office, Bondi Sands, Carter Grange and Cobs, the agency has filled a number of key positions. Adam Cooney went from head of strategy to the newly-created head of client delivery, Becky MacLeod came on board as digital manager, Matt Crook joined as head of strategic development and Sergio Brodsky was appointed head of strategy and innovation.

“As we continue to evolve the service we offer our clients, Giorgia’s arrival will add an extra dimension to how we can help our clients grow. She has fantastic experience with some great agencies and I am very excited to be working with her,” said Nunn Media’s Sydney managing director, Chris Walton.

“After undertaking an extensive recruitment process we were very taken with Giorgia’s strategic experience she gained at leading creative agencies.

“Her background complements the skills we already have in the business really well, and when added to how she engages with people and how she approaches business challenges made her the standout candidate for us.”

Butler had just an eight month stint at Affinity, and prior to that held senior positions at agencies such as Ogilvy and Y&R, and worked in New York for The Geppetto Group and Translation.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to apply strategic and creative know how to help solve emerging and existing media challenges,” she said about her new role.

“Our clients have long wanted to see a genuinely integrated way of working, where their media and creative agencies happily play to each other’s strengths. Our focus is on creating magic moments for our audiences, and Nunn Media, as Australia’s biggest indie, is uniquely positioned to tackle this challenge.”
